Caring for your lights in winter

Permanent lights are built for Canadian winters and need very little care. A few simple habits keep them looking new.

Do

  • Let snow and ice melt on their own. The LEDs are sealed and keep working under snow.
  • Rinse the track with a garden hose in spring if it gets dusty.
  • Keep the controller’s software updated in the app.

Don’t

  • Don’t knock ice off the eavestrough with a shovel or rake near the track.
  • Don’t pressure-wash the lights at close range.
  • Don’t unplug the power supply in winter. A powered system stays slightly warm and dry.

After an ice storm

If a section goes dark, turn the system off and on in the app first. If it is still dark, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you what to do.
